A Haven for Readers, Writers, Artists, and Dreamers.
A Place for the Love of Reading. A Place for Every Voice.
Welcome to the Read & Retreat Center—Wyoming’s first literary retreat and bookstore dedicated to cultivating a vibrant community of readers, writers, artists, and storytellers, and a space designed to foster creativity, community, and growth. Whether you’re an aspiring author, a lover of literature, or someone seeking a peaceful retreat, we invite you to be part of our mission. Your support will help make this dream a reality: a place for writers, readers, veterans, Native American communities, and diverse voices to connect, reflect, and find solace.
Our Vision:
The Read & Retreat Center isn’t just a bookstore—it’s a sanctuary for those who love the written word. It’s a place where authors can connect with readers, where aspiring writers and artists can hone and share their crafts, and where diverse voices are uplifted and celebrated.
Our Mission:
- Support Writers: The Read & Retreat Center will serve as a home for authors from all walks of life, providing them with the tools, space, and community they need to thrive.
- Empower Diverse Voices: With a special focus on Native American communities, we’re working with the Wind River Indian Reservation (WRIR) to support their stories through dedicated WRIR anthologies. These anthologies will be a source of cultural pride and a means to elevate Indigenous voices.
- Help Veterans: The Center will also support our military veterans by providing a creative space for them to reconnect with their craft and their communities.
But we can’t do it without you.

- Diverse authors and creators, ensuring their narratives are heard and valued.
- Local schools and libraries, fostering a love for reading among young minds through book donations, literacy programs, and interactive events.
- Aspiring and established local authors and artists, by providing a space where they can showcase their work, have book signings, and give presentations.

- Create a storage facility to house printed materials, allowing us to improve profit margins for our authors and illustrators.
- Fund reading programs in schools, inspiring the next generation of storytellers.
